This small beach town community has been working very hard over the years to redevelop every square inch and the changes are quite evident. Sitting just to the north of famed Galt Ocean Mile in Fort Lauderdale that towers over this community with its large condo buildings, this community takes a very different approach. Without a doubt I can’t think of a community north of the Florida Keys that can own the description “Beachy Casual” better than Lauderdale by the Sea. There are resorts, condos, rentals and single-family homes, but it’s famed areas along Commercial Blvd. and down to the Pier, give this city it’s unique vibe.
SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS – Arubas Beach Café is an institution in the area and as one of the few restaurants that actually ends on the sand, you must check it out. Laspadas is hands down the best place to find a hoagie in South Florida. Head over to one of the events, usually taking place during peak season, with the live bands along Commercial Blvd., you can sit in one of the many colorful adirondack chairs and watch friends and neighbors pass by then head over for a stroll on the Pier!
